CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State fans have been building Beaver programs for decades, and they have done it in the only way they know how: together as family. That philosophy has led the athletics program to a string of recent success, highlighted by a 10-3 football season in 2022 and the impending completion of Reser Stadium.

Today Dam Nation Collective, the official name, image and likeness collective of OSU Athletics through Beaver Sports Properties, is challenging fans to commit to the “Dam Fam” in 2023-24.

“We’ve always had a bootstrap mentality in Beaver Nation,” said Dam Nation co-founder Dick Oldfield. “Whenever we’ve built great things, it’s because we have come together as a community, invested with one another and gotten things done.”

In response to the shifting landscapes of college athletics, Dam Nation has introduced a new monthly membership program. The new model allows fans to give monthly, rather than in lump sums, making consistently supporting the Beavs easier than ever.

“In the NIL era, we need every Beaver fan to block out the noise, and participate to keep OSU moving forward,” Oldfield said. “We’ve faced a myriad of challenges over the decades, and Beaver Nation has risen to meet every one of them. I expect nothing less this year.”

Co-founder Kyle Bjornstad added that the shift in model is also in response to fan demand.

“We’ve spoken to hundreds of Beaver fans since launching Dam Nation, and one thing has been very clear: the desire for a simple, secure monthly membership program,” Bjornstad said. “Now fans can become members of the ‘Dam Fam’ however they choose.”

The new “Dam Fam” monthly membership program provides Beaver fans the flexibility to give in ways that work best for them.

“Dam Nation has seen generous support from some of OSU’s most stalwart philanthropists,” Bjornstad said. “However, for us to rise up to even greater heights, and for our program to be truly sustainable, we need donors at every giving level.”

Beaver fans are able to choose how much they would like to contribute to Dam Nation each month. Those who join the “Dam Fam” for as little as $10/month will receive Dam Nation benefits. At $50/month contributors will receive an exclusive apparel item, designed and produced by OBS, former OSU football standout Steven Jackson’s lifestyle brand company. The biggest benefit of all is knowing that all contributions directly support Dam Nation’s efforts to provide truly meaningful opportunities to Beaver student-athletes.

Since launching last November, Dam Nation has partnered with 57 OSU student-athletes. Its vision is to help all Beaver student-athletes and teams by finding opportunities that help prepare them for the future.

“One thing we’re most proud of is our broad-based support,” Bjornstad said. “Yes, we are here to help football achieve at a high level, but one of the special things about being part of Dam Nation is that every student-athlete matters. The ‘Dam Fam’ campaign is about supporting Beavers across all 17 sports programs, and we need Beaver Nation to rally with us to make it happen.”
